Lordy! Who knew this blog was a bi-annual feature? Sheeesh!
Well, I'm sure by now everyone has learned that this artist's only consistency is her inconsistency and that you aren't all awaiting my next little message.
I do have some housekeeping though, since I left a couple of cliff-hangers out there with my last post. I still can't tell you about one wonderful occurrence (that will have to wait until the new year -- augh!) BUT, my good news is that I have a book on its way (its gestation is about 14 months -- somewhere between that of a human and an elephant!).
Look for Junk to Jewelry: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Found Object Jewelry You Can Actually Wear in book/bead stores near you around the 4th of July (fireworks will have a new connotation for me this year). I'll have signed copies available on my site (probably with a little incentive something). As usual, Kalmbach (my publisher) is doing super-well by me and I can't wait to see the actual physical piece.
A little hint as to the innards, you ask? Well, there's a fishing lure ring (A-Lure-ing), a tape measure bangle (The Long Way Around) and a 'rock locket' (a commemoration of my Grandma Mae) to name a few. I hope you'll weigh in with your favorites when the time comes. I'm excited to get your feedback!
